Another incredibly productive weekend here at Fresh Ink Games. Filming continues for our PAX South Submission video and we're looking like we will be done the weekend before it is due. While we were originally shooting for tomorrow, we want this done well and correctly and want to respect the valuable time of the dear people that are helping us.
Some more prototyping happened this week bringing new cards, new items and some more tweaks here and there, it's easy to feel like that part can just go on forever. We're at a really important time in the development of Aokigahara where what we need are play tests, and a lot of them.
The plan is to set up as many blind play tests as we can so we can get as much feed back as possible. A blind play test is when the game designer or anyone who knows how the game is played is not actively participating or possibly not even there. The testers are supplied with the rules, all the pieces needed and time. They are then welcome to write down feed back as they go, wait until the end or if the designer or someone in the know is near by to give direct feed back.
The great thing about this is that play testers can be anyone. If you can read directions and even mildly enjoy learning and playing a new game, you are absolutely right for the job. Ideally we are looking for groups of 3-4 players that can coordinate their schedules but we can absolutely group individuals together if need be. Yay for making new friends!
If you would be interested in play testing with us, drop us a line at freshinkgames@gmail.com. We can come to you & your group, you can come here or we can meet out in NYC someplace! It'll be awesome.
